10 MONTH OLD BABY’S DEVELOPMENT – What to Expect

10 month baby development
Now your baby is about to turn one. You may notice his different skills this month. Your baby developments will progress to a very exciting stage. Here are some changes that you can note in your ten-month-old baby.

Here we are talking about 10-MONTH-OLD baby’s development:

DEVELOPMENTS AT THE STAGE OF 10th MONTH:

At this stage, the baby will become more active and responsive. Nothing can stop him now. He has his wings. (S)He wants to discover the world. He wants to use his skills and abilities. You can see a noticeable improvement in his walking. He tries to stand and take support from furniture, or he can stand alone now and also able to take some steps without mom’s help. Now he can go for his desired toys and can pick them. Now he can maintain balance while sitting or when he is throwing objects. Your ten-month-old baby is now able to clap also. He can also take in and take out an object from a container or a basket. He can use his thumb and fingers to pick up the small objects. Now his listening power is also increased. He loves to listen to songs. (S)He enjoys song sounds. He can now explore his favorite toys with hands, mouth, and fingers. When he sees some toys in the distance, he crawls to catch them. His communication skills are also developing in this month. He can now say meaningful words and proper words like mama dada papa etc. He is now able to respond to your simple directions like when you say ‘come here’ he will move towards you. When you say follow me, he will crawl by you. He is now able to make long strings of jargoning when he is with some social circle. (S)He can say one or two words correctly. He is also able to imitate or copy speech sounds. His babbling is now more accurate and has some sense now, which means you can understand his babbling. He is now more active and pays attention to those things where you look or where you pointed. He can give you a response on your no. Now he starts using his hand movements for communication purposes. He is now able to feed himself means finger feed. He would love to eat a variety of food. His stomach is now strong enough to digest the food which you feed him. He is also able to use a cup for drinking purposes. In food, you can also give him soft cooked food like vegetables, soft fruits like banana or pasta, etc. He may begin to self-feed with the help of a spoon. Now he is ready to enjoy a variety of tastes and smells. He is now able to feed himself with the help of spoons. Your baby is aware of your presence. If he realizes you are not in the room, he might start crying when you are out of his sight. He might start copying you like he is also trying to brush his hair, or he also uses phone and talks on the phone, or he also tries to copy your behavior. He might look at the right object when you are talking about it. Most babies who are ten months old, answer to simple verbal appeal and consist of words for known people and occasions. Your baby can become skilled in many gestures, like showing something out of reach, or farewell. Expect the baby’s stammering to take a new turn and evolve into words such as “dada” and “mama”. You might hear some clamor, like “uh-oh!” During this month, your baby will be able to crawl on his hands and knees, with his trunk running parallel to the ground. Many babies try to crawl. Some babies fully bypass the craze and move from scooting to standing. They may even be able to crawl the stairs. During this month, your baby can sit very confidently and may even walk while holding the furniture, eventually dropping it momentarily and standing without support. He takes his steps when he is in a walking position and can try to pick up a toy when he is standing up too. Most babies take their first steps between 9 and 12 months and walk well when they are 14 or 15 months old. Only a few weeks before his first birthday, your baby is no longer a defenseless child who can do nothing without momma’s help. He still has a lot of care and support, but his growing independence, evident in his standing solo, leaning and crouching becomes evident. Your baby can walk while grabbing your hand, and he will hold his arm or leg to help you dress him up. At feed time, he may be able to take a cup and drink it independently and feed by hand as a whole. At once your little angel is able to drink a cup by his own, you may need to start leaning, as it is just as likely to throw it when it has finished depositing it gently. Your baby will also deliberately drop objects for someone, maybe it is you, to recover. If you are tired of this set of drops, remove the object for a few minutes and try to distract your angel with something as attractive as a fun peek-a-boo game. Your angel can now understand your simple orders and instructions, but he might voluntarily choose to ignore you when you say “no.” Even if your ten-month-old baby does not always remember tomorrow what you said today, it’s not too early to tell your baby some limits and start teaching him some very important perceptions, such as the right of harm and shelter of security. You can use your best intuition as a guide. You are not awful; if you do not let him eat a second cupcake, you set a healthy limit. If your angel pulls the dog’s tail, you can move his hand and looks into his eyes and says, “No baby, it can hurt the dog.” Then, guide your baby’s hand to stroke the animal very softly. His desire to known the world is stronger than his willingness to listen to your orders and warnings, so it depends on you and how you can shield yourself and learn it. What seems to be a challenge is his common interest to check how the world around him works. Your baby can now profess himself with his siblings and start to play in a coordinate game but not with another baby. Informal children can be a well way to inspire your angel baby to evolve social power. Remember this thing that babies of this age are so young to know the thought of making friends. Play with your baby those games in which he can learn and know how to interact with other members and how to make friends in game time. And he might have new game thoughts from those first friends. With his straight grasp, which allows it to pick up small objects between his thumb and index finger, he may be able to pick up a grain or other small object piece without wrist rest on a hard surface. He became interested in the tiny things and still tends to taste them. It is fine until they are edible, but it should not be so small that he may choke on them. You can let your baby eat everything that is insoluble in water as raw carrots and maybe some grapes. The cooked veggie pieces, cheese, and peeled and cut up fruits are an excellent food for your little one. Baby wants a real adventure; climbing can be put on the list, especially upstairs. The only thing that is slowing its growth rate, combined with the food that nourishes it. His personality will now appear properly; he can be very friendly and smile at all or shy or perhaps hide his face when unknown comes to him. There may be occasions when your baby becomes afraid of the things he does not understand or that it was not a problem before, like the doorbell ringing or your mobile phone bell, etc. You can comfort him by telling him you are there, and it will be okay soon. Until now, he repeats voices and will be skilled at gaining your attention by doing different things. He may be able to say hello or goodbye. Your 10-month-old enjoys the opportunity of disclosure in many ways. Babies of ten months can crawl, pull off a sitting position, or sit and cross while holding it on furniture or hands. Walking is only a few months away, so the baby is expected to be on its way too soon. By this month, the baby can have up to one hour of nap during the day. But you do not have to worry if he still takes two naps. If he misses the morning nap, you better skip breakfast nap. The lunchtime helps the baby to stay awake during the afternoon and avoid the rest of the day before. The baby needs to replace the last nap because he sleeps for a night and sleeps for hours. Vitamin D, often called sun vitamin, plays an important role in the development of healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D is also important so that it can absorb calcium from the food we eat. The deficiency of vitamin D in young kids may cause rickets. In this condition, mineralization of bones and cartilage occurs. So, give your baby food that is full of calcium so that his bones become strong. You can give your baby optimal follow on milk and growing-up milk so that baby easily gets calcium that they need for their daily needs. Include such a meal in your baby food so that he can get calcium. Give him egg in breakfast. The department of health says that all babies from six months to 5 years should take 7 to 8.5 mg of vitamin D in the whole day. It may be in the form of vitamin drops.

HOW A MOTHER CAN HELP IN THE BABY’S DEVELOPMENT:

The mother plays a very important role in the development of milestones. Here are some tips which can help you with the baby’s development. If you notice that your baby is not talking so much so you should busy him in conversation, talk to him daily. When he makes some action, then you should give him a response like really wonder-full, amazing, or excellent. You can use such words for his little efforts. It will boost up his confidence, and he will listen and learn also. With the help of music, your baby can learn so much, so turn the music on. It might be possible that your baby has some favorite music, so play it. It may be pop or slow music or fast music. He will bounce with the beat means he is enjoying music. You can also hide his toys and ask him to find it out. It will develop a sense of thinking about objects in your baby. So, in this way, he gets to know that toys still exist even if he cannot see them. But still, they are existing. Now your baby can make eye contact; he can babble now. He can give you responses to different things, actions, and words. If still, you feel he is not communicating so well, you should take your baby to the doctor and consult with him. Your baby will be close to triple his weight at birth from here, and almost 12 months is a common event. Babies grow at their pace, and genetics has a significant influence on size and growth. But it is also the child’s environment and food intake that play a vital role in growth. If you are concerned that your baby is not eating enough food to develop properly, have your baby examined by your health nurse or general practitioner. Sometimes specialist’s advice in pediatric nutrition is warranted, especially when a baby fails to thrive. If it’s summer, it’s less likely that your baby’s growth will be reflected in his clothes. But you can use their crib, their car, or how they position themselves in your arms as a guide to the size they get. One day you look at your baby and get surprised to see how much they have grown in size. This can be very obvious when compared with a newborn and seeing how much they are transformed. The rate of growth of this first year as well as during adolescence is never higher. It will be impossible to keep your baby clean all the time when he reaches this month. If you are out, they will be eager to get into the ground, which can make things awkward if you are in the park or in the garden. Make it a habit to take their car wherever you go. Suppose everything is in your baby’s mouth. If you are redecorating your home and you think that lead-based paint is present, have it checked to make sure. Test kits are available from hardware stores and public health units. Babies and children are particularly sensitive to high levels of lead in their bloodstream, and this can lead to learning difficulties. You can consider the cleaning products you can use in your home, pesticides, fertilizers, and general household products. Residues can be hazardous, so be careful with what comes in your home and is found in the closet cleaning. If you feel trouble to spend each day, consider having a thorough check with your GP. Extreme fatigue can disguise genuine medical problems, and it is too easy to neglect our own needs. Arrange someone to take care of the baby during your appointment. If you find that your memory is not as good as you want, write down a list of the symptoms you are experiencing. If you are not healthy, you will not be in the best condition to take care of your baby. After ten months, you should feel a return to your energy levels without feeling overwhelming fatigue. Problems including thyroid, the endocrine system, and nutritional deficiency can have an impact on the energy level. Do not be too fast to jump out of bed when your baby cries overnight. If you are convinced that they have been fed, are safe and comfortable and there is no obvious reason for them to need you, rest a little. Given the desirability of self-appeasement and sanitation, many babies at ten months do exactly that. Do not neglect your own comfort needs. Take the time to change your sheets, sort your clothes, and clean your messed-up room if you can. Invest some time and think about what could create a soothing environment as a child should not absorb all your energy. Even if the house is messy, it is so important to have a place to retire at the end of the day. This is the month you may want to redesign your household to create safe areas that your baby can access. Gates through the doors can be a great way to keep them out of danger. If you have older children who appreciate their personal space, a portal in their room can minimize emotional explosions. There is so much value and learning acquired when children of different ages are exposed to each other. Siblings often have to agree on the needs and choices of each other, and this begins at a very young age. Look at your baby as they will be their older brothers and sisters to engage with them. Babies are very clever at drawing attention to them and have been mentioned as “sensory traps.” It’s not just grownup who falls for their magic. If you notice that the milestones which your baby has once now, he loses it all, so you should consult with your doctor soon. Give your baby proper love care and attention so that he feels confident and secure.

GAME OF THE MONTH:

They would love dropping things from the high chair for months, but now they can throw and catch. Gently drop the bag or toy on the platform and, when preparing to drop it, tilt and hold it, and throw it back gently.

WEIGHT OF BABY BOY AND GIRL:

In this month, the baby girl’s weight should be 6.8 to 10.7, and height should be 66.8 to 76.1, and head circumference should be 41.7 to 46.8. And in the case of baby boy weight should be 7.5 to 11.2, and height should be 69.0 to 76.6, and head circumference should be 43.0 to 47.8
