Reliance Communications and UTStarcom, a global leader in IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services, have announced the launch of India's first CDMA Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC.
PPC 6700 'Reliance Mobile Pocket PC', as it is called, is a multi-functional service with data and video transmission capabilities of up to 144 kbps, and average download speed ranging from 60-80 kbps on high speed Reliance Communications network. The pocket PC is targeted at executives on the move.
On this occasion, Vijay Yadav, Managing Director of UTStarcom South Asia Operations, said, "We are glad to partner with Reliance Communications for the launch of our award winning 'PPC 6700' in India. The 'PPC 6700' is a compact, feature-packed PDA phone running on Windows Mobile 5.O that sports a sliding QWERTY keyboard, triple radios including CDMA EV-DO ready, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel CMOS camera with video capture, miniSD card slot, touch screen, and a speakerphone.
This PDA, which can also be used as a camcorder, is image and audio formats supported; Bluetooth 1.2, MS Outlook Email, and Web Browsing capable; has video playback and recording, MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint Mobile, and pocket Internet explorer that supports rich HTML PC-like content rather than just WAP; and built-in Push mail client to support Push mail.
The PC 6700 Reliance Mobile Pocket PC, which is priced at Rs 33,000, is available through Reliance Communication's business sales channels, with servicing capabilities across 8 cities in India, including the four major metros.
