The Jabuticaba is a tree common to just about every small farm in Central Brazil. They produce a fruit in rainy season much like a grape that grows directly on the trunk. Like grapes they are used to make jelly, juice, and wine. They are best eaten raw directly from the tree. In this video I tried to capture what it is like to be a kid eating Jabuticabas in the farmyard.

Another good use for the branches of that tree is to make some real good slingshots, as the branches tend to be really strong and have a nice "Y" shape. That tree, alongside with the "Goiabeira" - Guavo tree I guess - is the tree of choice of any country boy in Minas when they want to make some really cool and precise slingshots!!
