    Pakistan Railway Colony Khanewal
My today photos are taken from the railway colony . These pictures represent the miserable condition of those quarters . This condition of railway colony is due to the ignorance of higher authorities . They are ignoring railway so that they can prove that railway is not profitable department . That day , when they will be successful in achieving and proving , that will be the end of railway . But railway's future is not bright and all is happening due to corruption of railway employees . They are closing doors of opportunities for their coming generation . All of us have to save our assets either in any shape , we have , otherwise we have to repent .

Subject : PAKISTAN RAILWAY COLONY KHANEWAL .
The Ministry of Railways in Pakistan has to develop a policy framework , specifically the housing facilities provided to it's employees .
I have seen the photographs of building structures of Railway colony . It seems as if it is a haunted place *& nobody lives there . As if there is no maintenance system in place or there are no such maintenance funds available ..There is no life left in the present structure rather it has outlived it's useful life . Your pictures / story will not serve any purpose except ALLAH may help you .This situation is the same in almost all cities of Pakistan .
PR has no control over it's assets & at many places , the unauthorized extension of Railway colonies is reaching near the risk area of railway track .
The higher Authorities are actually sleeping & not worried about their servants ( those who earn money for PR ) who provide services day & night & that is why they were given a near by residence to remain available all the time .
I'm not a *Railway Engineer but an Engineer ,aware of the Gov't *planning strategies .*.
Nobody can deny the profitability linked with Railway*system all over the world .*.

*At present it appears to be significantly underperforming in terms of overall productivity, mode share, and market penetration. There appear to be a number of causes of this situation, including substantial underinvestment, a large backlog of maintenance and renewals of both infrastructure and rolling stock, and somewhat outdated management and operations practices.
    *
Our view is that, especially given the performance of other railways in the region, this underperformance ought not to be the case, and that given appropriate investment and the undoubted skill and commitment of its senior management and strong and consistent political support, a substantial turnaround and ultimately strong growth should be possible.
    *
*Pakistan Railways financial state is presently poor however, and is still declining, but subject to this being corrected by a comprehensive turnaround plan there is the possibility that Public private partnership could play an important role in its future expansion, and some elements of PPP could also play an early role in reducing costs and increasing revenues in the near future, particularly on the management outsourcing side. The major investments in the system from the Private Sector will probably need to be accompanied by a financial restructuring and recovery plan.
