Royal Enfield's new motorcycle is a Bullet, a name that appears after an extended absence on the Bullet Classic. Yes, the Classic is a retro Bullet with a brand new 500cc fuel-injected motor.
The basic frame remains exactly the same, but RE says the motorcycle was conceived of and developed for the European use cycle. The round tool box et al hark back to the original Bullet and the paint schemes also evoke nostalgia. RE claims it will cruise at over 110kmph and will evoke the '50s feeling with modern day at over 110kmph and will evoke the '50s feeling with modern day reliability. However, the Indian versions with this engine are scheduled for a 2010 release, by which time RE will stabilise the production of the European version and work out the homologation details since the Bullet will need to meet Euro IV norms.
The original Royal Enfield Bullet was created in 1932, so this new model has an impressive heritage that stretches back over 76 years.
