People told me that in a lifetime, it is only once you are given a chance to change. If you utilize it, you are successful otherwise, you aren’t. I was amazed. I told them, once in a lifetime, one gets a chance to get happiness without it being followed by sorrow. When they asked me an example, I told them of Bhagat Singh who sacrificed his life (along with many others) and faced death bravely and happily. They told me he was a fool to be that way and they also referred to me as a crazy brat. Of course, this is what most of you would do, but very few people remember the great words of Caesar,
“Cowards die many times before their deaths
The valiant never taste of death but once
Of all the wonders that I have heard.
It seems to me most strange that men should fear
Seeing that death, a necessary end
Will come when it will come”
If people say, he died just when he said these words, there are cowards who are like mice in front of valour. And in ‘the chronicles of Narnia’, CS Lewis, depicts valour through a mice called Reepicheep who in terms of meeting Aslan is ready to face any dangers that come across.
I am not trying to say that we should look for death but only be at our happiest at that moment of our life’s end. Also when we look for death, we live a hundred years except, when we suicide.
So why not enjoy every moment of life so that at the death bed we are still happy and content. I have heard a general saying that when we come into this earth, we are empty-handed and the same when we die. Valour, intelligence and fate are three things that we need at a high to live a great life between life and death. All dream of wealth and an easy way of living, but how many can you find wishing blessings of happiness and life of simplicity?
Therefore, what I have tried to tell you my friends is that we are born to be happy and we should try to be happy without being the cause for others’ harm and concerns because death is a particular certainty which none can escape.
