# Thread: [[M]]Proof for 3=2

1. ## [[M]]Proof for 3=2

Proof for 3=2

Ramanujan's proof!!.... Can u find any flaws??

Can U Prove 3=2??

This seems to be an anomaly or whatever u call in mathematics.

It seems, Ramanujam found it but never disclosed it during his life time
and that it has been found from his dairy.

See this illustration: That’s the way………….

-6 = -6

9-15 = 4-10

adding 25/4 to both sides:

9-15+(25/4) = 4-10+(25/4 )

Changing the order

9+(25/4)-15 = 4+(25/4)-10

(this is just like : a square + b square - two a b = (a-b)square. )

Here a = 3, b=5/2 for L.H.S and a =2, b=5/2 for R.H.S.

So it can be expressed as follows:

(3-5/2)(3-5/ 2) = (2-5/2)(2-5/ 2)

Taking positive square root on both sides:

3 - 5/2 = 2 - 5/2

3 = 2

2. hmmmm........nice

3. how can this be man, am so confused....

4. yar, its just a logic.......read it again...

5. its nice.................. I got this.

6. we used to try these in school..
its pure logic..

7. I need a clock to explain this even simpler,

In a clock,
a) First Hand = Hour Hand
b) Second Hand = Minute Hand
c) Third Hand = Second Hand

If you take the statement c)
Third Hand = Second Hand

3 Hand = 2 Hand

canceling Hand from both the sides

3=2

Very Simple!

8. Another (simple) solution,

Proof:
2 = 3

Multiply 0 on both the sides

L.H.S: 2 X 0 = 0
R.H.S: 3 X 0 = 0

L.H.S = R.H.S
So, 2 = 3

Hence Proved.

Infact, I have sent this solution to the Nobel Prize commitee team.
