Rawalpindi: A large number of lawyers from Rawalpindi have planned to attend a function at the residence of the Chief Justice of Pakistan today (Sunday).

They would assemble at District Courts and then go to Islamabad at the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary’s residence. Supreme Court Bar Association President Ali Ahmed Kurd told ‘The News’ that he would not attend the function saying that he had fulfilled his mission for the reinstatement of deposed judges and now he has nothing to do with such kind of functions. Kurd said that being President of Supreme Court Bar Association he has neither any concern with the chamber of Chief Justice nor such kinds of functions. He said that he could not ‘dance’ or celebrate such kinds of functions.

All deposed judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary had been reinstated on November 2 position. He said that he did enough celebrations and raised slogans during two years and now he would not participate any kind of function.

On the other hand Chaudhary Aitzaz Ahsen said in a statement that lawyers would arrange a pompous function at the Chief Justice’s house in Judges Colony to celebrate the reinstatement of deposed judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary would not participate in the function, he informed.

He also informed that PPP leaders Naheed Khan, Safdar Abbasi and he himself would hoist the flag of Pakistan at the Chief Justice’s house.
