1. ## New Puzzle

100 people standing in a circle in an order 1 to 100.
No. 1 has a sword.
He kills next person (i.e: No. 2) and gives sword to next (i.e: No. 3). All of them do the same untill only 1 survives. Which number survives at the last?

Warning - not as easy as it appears....

2. The correct answer given by Haseeb ur Rehman:

1 has the sword , he kills 2, and gives the sword to 3, 3 kills 4, gives sword to 5, and so on, so we have all even numbers killed.
1,3,5,7...99 are left.
After 99, the sword again comes to 1.
In the next round, numbers left are
1,5,9,13..97, and again the sword comes to 1, at the end of round.
and then in next round: 1,9,17, ...
If you can notice, the gap between the numbers is doubling,
( i.e gap of 2, 4,8,16... ) in every successive round and the sword always comes to 1 at the end of every round.
So at the end, when there is a gap of 64 between the numbers,
only 1 and 65 are left, and 1 kills 65, as he gets the sword at the end of previous round. Good Puzzle!
