A new series on PBS examines the impact of conflict on women around the world. “Women, War and Peace” looks at war zones from Bosnia to Colombia to Afghanistan and beyond. The most recent episode to air called, “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” focused on the story of Liberian women who took on the warlords and the regime of dictator Charles Taylor in the midst of a bloody civil war. The documentary features Leymah Gbowee, one of three recipients of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. Democracy Now! speaks to Abigail Disney, the executive producer of Women, War and Peace, the PBS Special Series on women’s role in global conflict. The next episode airs tonight, "Peace Unveiled," examines the position of women in the conflict in Afghanistan.

Thank you for the effort, even though it may not mean much
but maybe that’s all we can do. Bring up the conspiracies and
show the world what all these prizes really mean.
I’m an American physician and have lived here all my life. I used
to be simple minded and naïve, and used to believe what our
presidents said. I’ve learnt that we cannot trust a word they say.
It may take 20-40 years before the records called “Classified” are
    released.
For example president Roosevelt was well aware of the attack on
“Pearl Harbor”, but he under oath said he wasn’t.
Vietnam war started by president L B Johnson after he declared
that North Vietnam had attacked South Vietnam. Millions of people
died. According to the declassified documents now, there wasn’t
    any attack.
You probably know by now that US president cannot do a thing
without Israeli permission, Saudi Arabia had already paid for Syrian
war, and is very upset that it didn’t happen. They are just trying to kill
Shiat Muslims. So, how can one blame anyone else?
I truly appreciate your effort, and would like you to continue to do
    this humanitarian work.
These people don’t care about anyone but them.
Please feel free to write me.
    Yours Truly,
    Ahsan K. Bajwa, M.D.
