Sanjay Dutt will play the dual leading roles in the remake of the hit comedy ‘Satte Pe Satta’.

In the season of remakes, director Raj Sippy is planning to make a modern version of his 1982 movie ‘Satte Pe Satta’ that starred Amitabh Bachchan , Hema Malini , Ranjeeta , Amjad Khan , Sachin, Shakti Kapoor and other acTo this day it remains one of the best comedies to have come out of Hindi film industry. It also happens to be one of Dutt’s all-time favourite flicks.

Now, Raj Sippy and Sanjay Dutt are in talks about the film’s remake which is titled Seven . But there is also a twist.

Instead of seven brothers, the film will have four brothers and three sisters. Sanjay Dutt will play the eldest of the siblings. He will also play the double role as a released prison convict on a mission to kill.

Raj Sippy has told a Mumbai tabloid that he wants Rani Mukherjee to play Hema Malini’s role and Vidya Balan to play Ranjeeta’s role in ‘Seven’.

Vidya, who played a wheelchair-bound girl in Guru , seems perfectly suited to play the role of a rich heiress with paralyzed legs.

Raj Sippy has previously directed Sanjay Dutt in ‘Thaanedar’. Interestingly, when his ‘Satte Pe Satta’ released in 1982, Sanjay Dutt had just begun his acting career with ‘Rocky’.
