When I post an image it appears very very tiny size. How to increase the size of the image?

i think you are talking about the thumb which you see while posting . after posting the large size image will be shown. please try to post a image in reply of this post. you will see that there is no problem at all.

Here there is no problem. But when I post it under "Jokes" this size is not shown.

When I post the image and press post reply, the same size - thumb size - remains.As a result it is not being accepted. It says your "message is too short". That is my problem.

you need to just add a few words to describe that image.
for example you can add
"here is the joke of the day from me"
as you will add text with the image , it will be accepted without any problem
