iPhone users might soon be able to enjoy voice-recognition capability thanks to AT&T's efforts in developing a web-based platform known as Speech Mashups. This platform will send your speech to a remote server, translating commands to control your handset. Being web-based, the iPhone isn't the only device able to take advantage of such technology as it will also be compatible with majority of other browser-equipped AT&T handsets, wireless devices and TV set-top boxes - as long as there is an Internet connection. Cell phone owners ought to look into a good and cheap data plan if they're planning to make use of this frequently.
