Gurdas Mann brought to Fortis Hospital after accident in Karnal

Chandigarh, Jan 20: Popular Punjabi singer-actor Gurdas Mann, who escaped with minor injuries when his multi utility vehicle was involved in a collision with a taxi near Madhuban in Karnal district of Haryana today, was brought to a Mohali hospital where he was examined by specialists and kept under observation.

After first aid in Karnal, Mann was brought to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, "to rule out any kind of internal injury" even though he was reported to be fine.

Medical Director of Fortis Hospital, Mohali, Dr Ashok V Chordiya, who is an internal medicine specialist , told reporters that after an examination of Gurdas Mann, "all vital parameters are fine. His pulse, blood pressure etc are all normal. After the X-rays, CT scans and ultrasound of different parts of the body including the head, it appears that there are no fractures or internal injuries, and his condition appears to be stable".

Among other medical experts who examined him were the orthopaedic surgeon Dr Padaman Singh and the cosmetic surgeon Dr KM Kapoor.

Gurdas Mann has been admitted in the hospital and further comments on his well being will be issued once the doctors examine him again tomorrow, Dr Ashok said.

Earlier this morning, Mann`s vehicle was coming from Delhi side on national highway number one when it met with the accident, Karnal`s Superintendent of Police, Sibas Kaviraj said earlier, adding the singer`s driver has suffered a fracture.

"I spoke to him over the phone and he said that he was fine," Gurdas Mann`s wife, Manjeet Mann said.
